The course will be held in the Raritan and Musconetcong River watersheds near Clinton, New Jersey.

In addition to lectures, discussions, field exercises, and workshops on-site, there are field trips to see a range of stream conditions and restoration projects in the region.

The Raritan River adjoins Duke Farms, and provides a larger-scale fluvial system to study, with its well-developed floodplain, riparian forest, gravel bars, bedrock outcrops, and traces of past human uses.

Duke’s Brook flows through the grounds of Duke Farms before joining the Raritan River. The stream is ideal for field work to understand geomorphic and ecological relationships and for assessment exercises.
